Write Protection Notch |
| Definition: A write portection notch is a notch on a floppy disk that, when it is covered or closed, prevents a disk from being written to and protects all the data on the disk.
Explanation: All 3.5" floppy disks have a
write protection notch in the upper right hand corner. It looks like a small square hole
in the disk. These notches allow you to protect what you have already saved.
