Definition:

A toolbar is a bar that displays icons to represent commands or functions in a software program.


  Explanation:

A toolbar makes software programs user friendly.  It provides easy access to the various functions and commands in a software program.  The picture images also help make the functions and commands easy to understand.  Toolbars can be located at the top, bottom, or sides of a screen.  In some programs, toolbars can be moved around the screen to suit the needs of the user.  The toolbar above is a graphics program toolbar.
