Definition:

The motherboard is the main circuit board in the computer.
 
 
 

Explanation:

The motherboard is also known as the system board.  It is the largest circuit board in the computer.  The CPU chip and the RAM chips are attached here.  It also has "expansion" slots.  If you wanted to add memory to your computer, you could connect additional memory chips to the motherboard.
