Highlight

Definition:

Highlight, or select, means to click and drag the mouse over pictures or words to color them (blocking) for the purpose of editing.

Explanation:

Highlighting pictures or words lets the computer know what you want to edit or change.  Once you have highlighted an area by clicking and dragging the mouse, you can give the computer instructions about what to change in that area.  For example, you can tell the computer to make words bold, italics, or underlined by clicking the box on the toolbar.  Changes will be made to the entire area immediately.  Clicking the mouse in any white space takes away highlighting.
