Field

Definition:

A field is part of a database that holds only one type of information.

Explanation:

In your personal address book, each person's name would be part of the "Name" field.  Their address would be part of the "Address" field, the their phone number would be part of the "Phone Number" field.  A field is the smallest part of a database.  You can decide what fields you want in the database you create.
