Definition:

A cell is a box where rows and columns come together on a spreadsheet.  Data is entered in cells.

A column is a vertical line of data on a spreadsheet.

A row is a horizontal line of data on a spreadsheet.

Explanation:

Columns are vertical lines of data on a spreadsheet.  They are identified by letters running across the top of the worksheet.  Rows are horizontal lines of data.  They are identified by numbers running down the left hand side of the worksheet.  Cells are the boxes in which data is entered.  Each cell has an address.  The address is formed by a letter and a number where columns and rows meet.  The outlined cell above is located where column "B" and row "8" meet.
