Explorers

of the

New World

As part of our study on Explorers, you will be asked to complete a project on a selected explorer.  Please follow the guidelines listed below!

  1. Choose an explorer from the list.
  2. Obtain an Explorer Data Form on which to take notes.
  3. Use several types of sources such as books, encyclopedias, textbook, and internet.  Go to Explorer Links for some suggested internet sites.
  4. Complete the Explorer Data Form.
  5. Using data from your form, write a report on your explorer making sure you include all of the data listed on the form.  Your report must either be typed or written in blue or black ink.  You may only use one side of a piece of paper (in other words, do not write on the back of the paper!)
  6. Make a visual highlighting your explorer.
  7. Prepare an oral presentation summarizing what you have learned about the explorer.
